July 26 – Your weekend Update.

There are two forest fires burning in the area. The Bear Gulch fire near Hoodsport, north of Lake Cushman has been burning since July 6 and is about 650 acres in size.

There is also a smaller fire, the Toonerville Fire burning west of Bremerton. It’s about 85 acres in size.

The North Kitsap Fire and Rescue has information on reducing risks of fire on your property and how to be prepared. North Kitsap is also under under a Phase I Outdoor Burning Ban: Outdoor burning permits are temporarily suspended, and no outdoor burning is allowed except for recreational or cooking fires in developed fire pits or portable outdoor fireplaces.
